The Hook and Sink ‘Em

While attending Baylor University as an undergrad, I watched as design brought something out in me. I had always loved school but had never felt this kind of passion toward a learning path and had honestly been too afraid to try. As a sophmore I signed up for a few art classes with a shaky hand and anxious spirit. Soon thereafter I declared a Studio Art major with a Graphic Design concentration.

I was hooked.

Creative exercises and studio classes all around me and I was reeling. For the remaining 3 years of college I spent the majority of my time in Hooper-Schafer Fine Art Building (the phantom building at the back of campus that business kids don’t even know about, poor guys) working around the clock to meet my impending deadlines. Late nights of coffee, loud music, the hum of the printer (inevitably causing grief with flashing “ink low” and “error” signs) and x-acto knives, which probably isn’t the best mix but it got the job done. The act of creating with my own mind, and with my own hands, was so thrilling for me that I knew this must be the world I belonged in.

The Here and Now

I am currently employed with the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce, in Waco, Texas, as their Art Director. To learn more about the Waco Chamber, and the happenings around Waco, please visit www.WacoChamber.com. Waco has a lot to offer!

Creative lifestyles can give something to us all. I love to feel challenged, and I love building relationships with people. I have much to learn, and with great teachers around me, and am eager for what is to come.
